The Wombat Mobile

Tuesday, April 25th, 2006

I bought a car! It’s a brown 1987 Toyota Corolla Seca pictured below in all its loveliness. After walking what feels like three miles with groceries between the supermarket and my apartment I decided it was worth it to get a car. After looking around for a month or so I came across this beauty [...]

Tuesday, April 18th, 2006

On Saturday, April 15th, I tagged along on a sight seeing tour of Canberra with Chris and his sister Catherine visiting from Sydney. We saw New Parliament House, the outside of Old Parliament House, The Aboriginal Tent Embassy, The War Memorial, and Telstra Tower. All of which were good. New Parliament House was particularly fun [...]

Friday, April 14th, 2006

Today I went on a short trek with Carly, Chris, and Thomas through the Australian Alps National Park. It was a nice walk through the woods, with great views from the mountain top. Afterwards we head coffee by the Canberra Deep Space Communications Complex radio telescope. I posted some pictures in the gallery.

The trip was great fun, and after two months of being in Australia I finally saw kangaroos! Otherwise, it was a bit [...]

My old hosting service, Startlogic, was having serious problems with connections to the mysql database, and because my contract was about to expire with them, I changed hosts. I’m now with Hostgator and things are already easier. For example, I can host multiple domains under the same account, so Inverso.name and SamInverso.com both point to [...]

Wednesday, December 7th, 2005

I just accepted a PhD position at the Australian National University! I will be in the Research School of Biological Sciences in the Human Brain Dynamics group for the next three years. It’s a relief to know where I’m living for a time span measured in more than months. And, it’s great that I just [...]
